Oh the irony that this is on Fletcher's journal

So we need to organize a visit to Battery Park and South St. Seaport (where one of the Laguardia ferry as soon as Aya is able to piece this together. Which really shouldn't be too long as soon as she gets her hands on it. The meaning of threshold will take Lelouch a little bit to figure out, but he'll make the same connection from SEADEPARTURE to check the ferrys for those that have a second letter of A, and Laguardia is the only one that fits. And, the South St. Seaport is where a handful of dissappeared characters woke up at.

*more collecting rationale here than actually presenting anything new*

I dunno about tunneled/r especially since it only has one l and it's mostly 1/1... I will look for words with this combination I think.

http://www.morewords.com/contains/nn/ I'm going through this right now to see if I can find anything with an "le" in it that fits the context.

... "pinnacle" seems to fit perfectly.

birdwatching:
swift [Sora], starling [Flute], sparrow [Aerith] - b-nest [Bryant Park Hotel]
swallow [Flonne] - l-nest [Library Hotel]

trapping:
swan [Orihime?], shrike [Garnet?] - categorize and log

Sora, Flonne, and Flute have all been disappeared and probably tracked at some point; Aerith hasn't been difficult about her location and lives at the same "nest" as Sora and Flute, making her easy to keep an eye on without needing to track her; Orihime and Garnet have both been difficult about their locations and will probably be next on the disappearances list HMM.

Something I think may be noteworthy:

When I asked if Spin could have some of his powers back, the mods ok'd it. This means whatever is nerfing us isn't entirely permanent or whatever.

Why is Mia so hard bend on keeping Maya from channeling things?

What do the crabs eat? (may not be relevant at all)

Why have the lights outside Manhattan gone out?

Fran should know the answer to that second one, but I never asked mods about it. She was feeding her pet crab meat from her rations before it died from lack of food. Since it had bitten her. 8D

Story time with Taiga part 1: bag 'o crabs

[identity profile] moralitychained.livejournal.com 2009-03-30 05:18 am (UTC)(link)
Ooookay, so trying to piece things together, I came up with a crazy plot theory. Since this is me trying to make sense of the plot and not just decoding messages, this should be rated S++ for "ultra skeptical".

Okay, here we go.

First of all, CFP-TCI has kept referring to the outside situation as "stable" which as Guin pointed out, is a rather strange way of putting things. Why "stable"? Could it be possible that while the worse is in Manhattan, parasite crabs and/or Clover are appearing elsewhere?

Now, considering that crabs bites cannot be healed by conventional ways, they were stuck. One way or another, they would bring out people from other worlds/dimensions in an attempt to find a solution. Thus, it was all a plot to find "Healers", the solution to their worldwide crab problems. This could also tie in with a couple of the disappearances, mostly the firsts ones. Healers, and later, bite victims had been kidnapped. Now, it's pretty obvious that they are being experimented on. Could it be that they are trying to check what makes the Healers "Healers"?

But now, why would they need to nerf powers? Well two explanations pop out.

1 - It's accidental
2 - They didn't know just how powerful these people would be. If they were too powerful, they could either simply eradicate all the monsters, thus making it impossible to test for crab bite solutions, or, more plausible, the too much powerful characters could use force and take control. Thus they needed to be all nerfed in order to prevent a switch in power.

Story time with Taiga part 2: Mama-Mia

[identity profile] moralitychained.livejournal.com 2009-03-30 05:42 am (UTC)(link)
So now that we're all up in the theories that Mia might be a mole, here I go with my own additions to the already growing theory. I'm not the one who came up with most of it, so guys, feel free to add under here. Not stealing your thunder on this one.

Anyway, this is my weakest theory at this point.

It's possible "magic" wasn't the intended solution when they started kidnapping people. The fact that TCF-TCI kept asking about "magic" and "healers". Sure we don't know if he's in on this or not... but it's obvious it's not a "normal" solution for him. Perhaps finding a more advanced scientist or a future society was what they were aiming for, but instead, they got... Flonne.

Flonne, Healer NO 1, was one of the first to arrive to Manhattan and immediately demonstrates her ability for healing. If the theory in part 1 holds up, she became the "answer" to the prayers of whoever is holding us captive. And who was the first to be healed? Mia.

If Mia is indeed a mole, that could be the starting point of the whole mess. She got to see first hand just what the solution was, and set out to gather the healers and keep them under her "wing". It would partly explain how the culprits knew about the Healers and managed to find them during the kidnapping (however, we do have the network hackings... unless that is a lie as well...).

Basically, Mia has access to all Healers under the excuse of "they wouldn't be safe". While this does have a point, it's also a normal technique to control people, by instilling fear into them. The kidnappings was both to experiment on them and to reinforce the fear. Plus... Flonne is naive. If Mia told her that this was done to be safe, she'd believe it. And Flonne would be more than happy to relay the message to the other healers, making it easier to manipulate.

However, the question is why? Being forced into it is a big possibility, considering her family and Godot's situation. But this raises the question, if she IS the mole, has she been an agent from the beginning, or did it come later?

Like I said, this part is my weakest link (and filled with stuff people can figure out easy). But, do feel free to spam this one with the other Mia/mole theories.

Well, Word 'o God shut down the Mia thing for good, not that it really changes anything in what I have going on (anyway, it was a weak theory no my part so...(

NEXT.

Story time with Taiga part 3: DC: RESERVoir CHRoNiCLE

[identity profile] moralitychained.livejournal.com 2009-03-30 06:36 am (UTC)(link)
Assuming that the Healers are the important part of the plot to find a crab bite solution, this leaves one big question. What's up with Clover? Or most likely, the Clovers? Clover is a big monster that likes to stomp stuff and they KNOW how to stop him anyway. If the parasite crabs are the problem, then what the heck is the deal with Clover?

Well, we all know that the crabs came from Clover as parasites, so perhaps they simply thought that the best way to make sure the city kept being "infected" with crabs as they get eliminated from the killings was by inserting Clovers. However, we all know that one of the three didn't have any crabs. Why insert one that's not "infected"?

Also, a question a lot of people have been asking, myself including is, what do the crabs eat? There's no animals, and they do not seem to eat humans. What if the Clovers are only there as a food source? They are parasites after all, they would feed back on Clover, keeping them alive and capable of reproduction.

So what about the smaller Clover with no crabs? It's very possible that it's too young to be bitten, or it was just inserted and didn't have time to get enough crabs on him.

And now, ladies and gentlemen, as proof that I need my diploma fast before my brain melts of microbiology, I present to you: my most far-fetched idea yet.

What if the infection comes from Clover?

Animal reservoir. Think of it like the West Nile Virus, birds are the primary reservoirs, but we get infected with it via mosquito bite. Basically, what if the crabs aren't the only ones making us sick? What if they are only the vectors, not the reservoirs? Considering they are parasite, and their favorite site is Clover, what if Clover is the actual viral reservoir? This could explain why Clovers are needed inside Manhattan as they cannot directly infect people.

Also, keep in mind that we now have two monsters, one that wasn't swarmed in crabs too. And soon after, the latest batch of kidnappers got bitten and, for some reason, the symptoms came in sooner. Could the newest Clover have a different strain? Has it been made stronger by whoever is holding us captive? Is it a freak mutation?

Or you know, maybe just to dissuade people from trying to take over...

I think I'll stop for now before I go insane from weird theories and get myself rolls of tinfoil.
